Makrid Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Along the village of Makrid, southeastern part of the Kara-Tyube Mountains. V.S. Korsakov et al., 1993 (460, p.88). Previously, the deposits of A.A. were included in the composition of the Pyazyn Fm of the Zirabulak-Ziaetdin Mountains.
Synonym: Makrid Suite, Макридская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Dolomites, dolomitic limestones, interlayers of limestones. Thickness 650-700m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Relationships with enclosing rocks - along faults. Schematic stratigraphic column indicates the lower contact as Burchakyrtau Fm
Upper contact
Relationships with enclosing rocks - along faults. Schematic stratigraphic column indicates the upper contact as Tersak Fm
Regional extent
The Kora-Tyube.
